We're still a week and a half away but I'm going to go ahead and start taking reservations for poker night.

Poker Game Saturday

There is a Hold 'em tourney Saturday starting at 7:30. If you didn't get an email about it and you want to go, leave a comment in the blog or email me and I'll send you the information.

Not sure on what the structure is yet. The buy-in is probably going to be $20. I think the plan is to try to get enough for three tables.

The new ranking are out. It took a little while, you know with the high level math. An uncountable amount of CPU cycles have been ezpended to churn out these calculations. Once again, they have to mean something. They've been carried out to two decimal places.

Been a while

The Letdown

It has been a while since I've had a real post here. The last game went to 2 a.m. and I got up and made it to work by 7. I think I'm still tired... We had a pretty big build up to the game and then AJ dropped eary, Jeff got tons of bad beats, Kevin forgot his "new aggressive" style and the rest is history.

Glad to see Henry in the money though. However, we may have created a new pro, making a living at the boats. Can you say subsidising your retirement. Hopefully that money will still spend at our games.

You know the 2005 WSOP is in June this year ( June 2, 2005 – July 15, 2005) the Main Event starts on July 7. Make your reservations now, it's only $10,000.

Anyway, enough for now.

Game Three Complete

Well game three has come and gone. We had a pretty full game, eleven people showed up requiring us to have two tables.

We combined when we got to eight. We've got two new people at the final table. Congrats to Robert and Henry.

We'll have two tables. (one with seven, one with six) If people do not show or we get more we'll distribute accordingly. Players will draw cards for table and position.

If the difference between tables gets to more than one we will draw cards to move someone (first ace dealt out will move). The person moving will go to the new table directly behind the button.

We will combine to one table when we get down to eight (8) people left. The people that are out can then feel free to start a nickel,dime,quarter game if they want to.

I'm hoping to get a couple more people named Robert, Kevin or Doug to start showing up to make things more confusing.

If we start with 11 we'll do a table of six and five and figure it out from there. I was talking to Kevin today about the bounty on a multilpe table game. We thought that the bounty would only be given at the final table. That way everyone gets a chance at it as long as the bounty makes it to the table. Any thoughts on that are welcome.

Looks like we have a good game shaping up on Wednesday. In case you don't remember, Survivor is on Wednesday night this coming week, so make sure you tape/tivo it if you need to.

We have a solid seven for the game. I haven't heard back from Dave or Dick and I probably won't talk to Kevin K. or Bobby until Tuesday. And I'm not sure about my nephew either, probably email him this weekend. So, I guess there is a possibility for a couple more to show. I'll have to see if my spreadsheet goes that high.

I'm thinking of having some pizza for Wednesday, Domino's has the 3 or more medium one topping pizzas for $5 deal going so if anyone has a topping of choice let me know. I figure ... what ... about three would be enough? I may have to check with the resident math guy on that.

established:

You know they have to mean something since they have two decimal places.

What the hell am I looking at?
For our games the players are ranked only if they have come in first or second in game in the last 12. The last 12 games are looked at and weighted the most resent being weighted higher. A player gets points by how they finished, bonus points for getting the bounty and bonus points for how hard the table was. We check the alignment of the stars, look to see which of the astronomical signs the sun is in and then add/multiply/divide and whammo, a number pops out and you have a ranking.

Any complaints will probably go unanswered and questions can be posted here.
